Safe and High-Performance Material Solutions for Data Center Infrastructure

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-speed data processing applications is increasing power density and hardware requirements in data center infrastructure. This development is driving higher safety and performance expectations for engineering plastics used in critical components such as terminal blocks, connectors, busbar systems, cable management components, and electrical distribution and protection equipment.

When selecting materials for data center and electrical & electronics (E&E) applications, flame resistance, electrical insulation, mechanical strength, impact resistance, and dimensional stability must be considered together. Compact designs and increasing hardware density are also creating a growing need for high-flow materials that enable the reliable production of thin-walled parts with complex geometries.

eurotec® provides reliable material solutions with its high-performance Tecomid® products, developed to meet the demanding requirements of data center and E&E infrastructure.

Tecomid® NB30 NL FA50 QL is a high-flow, halogen-free flame-retardant PA6 grade that achieves a UL 94 V-0 rating at 0.75 mm, with its performance supported by UL certification. Available in various color options, the material is an ideal solution for thin-walled and complex components such as terminal blocks, connectors, busbar components, and cable management systems.

Another member of the product family, Tecomid® NB30 NL YP50, combines high flowability and good impact resistance with halogen-free UL 94 V-2 flame-retardant performance. Achieving a V-2 rating at 0.75 mm and available in various color options, the material provides a well-balanced solution for E&E applications requiring mechanical durability and design flexibility alongside safety performance.

Developed for data center electrical distribution systems, Tecomid® NB30 GP20 NL XZ50 QL, a PA6 compound reinforced with 20% glass fiber, combines UL 94 V-2 flame-retardant performance with advanced electrical safety properties. Its 600 V CTI rating, PLC 0 High Amp Arc Ignition (HAI) performance, and high GWIT support its suitability for applications where electrical safety is a key requirement. Backed by a UL Yellow Card, the material also offers high flowability and colorability, providing design flexibility alongside technical performance. With this combination of properties, Tecomid® NB30 GP20 NL XZ50 QL is a strong material solution for data center electrical infrastructure applications such as circuit breakers, electrical distribution and protection equipment, terminal and connection components, and electrical enclosures.

Combining thin-wall flame resistance, high electrical safety, easy processability, color flexibility, and mechanical performance, Tecomid® solutions contribute to the development of safe, durable, and efficient electrical distribution and protection systems for next-generation data center infrastructure.
